What began as a heartfelt wish to honor Autumn Helgeson has grown into Autumn’s Kitchen—a meaningful project within Our Nawakwa’s Connecting Youth to Nature Capital Campaign. Alongside memorials for Jayna, Haylee, and Sara, Autumn’s Kitchen now stands as a lasting tribute that brings nourishment, connection, and healing to camp.
Named for Autumn’s generous spirit and love of service, the kitchen serves as a central gathering space for youth groups and community events.
Project Progress & Impact
The first phase of the renovation—including a commercial range, convection oven, and mop sink—was completed and ready for summer 2025. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, the Autumn’s Kitchen Campaign raised $122,989.13, including a fully met $24,500 matching gift.
Construction Timeline
Bids for the next phase of construction have begun, and a new walk-in cooler has been secured. The goal is to complete the remaining renovations by Earth Day.
Special thanks to Chad Oster for managing this project and helping bring Autumn’s Kitchen to life.
