Mammoth Hike Challenge Weekend

Join us at Camp Nawakwa for a fun day on the Ice Age National Scenic Trail as we tackle the Mammoth Hike Challenge together! Whether you’re looking for a shorter hike or want to take on a bigger challenge, we’ve got an option for you. Spend a beautiful fall day hiking while supporting Our Nawakwa’s mission to connect youth with nature.

Registration Fee: $25 per person

Your registration includes:

  • Shuttle transportation to your selected trailhead
  • Choice of a 14.2-mile or 6.4-mile hike
  • Trail Magic stations with snacks and encouragement along the route
  • Post-hike cookout featuring burgers, hot dogs, chips, and desserts
  • A fun day on the Ice Age National Scenic Trail with fellow hikers

Every registration helps support Camp Nawakwa’s mission to connect youth with nature through outdoor experiences, adventure, and environmental education. Thank you for helping ensure future generations have the opportunity to learn, grow, and explore in the outdoors.

Hiking Options

  • 14.2-Mile Hike
    • Ride the shuttle to the Chippewa Moraine trailhead and hike both the Chippewa Moraine and Harwood Lakes segments back to Camp Nawakwa.
  • 6.4-Mile Hike
    • Ride the shuttle to the Harwood Lakes trailhead and enjoy a scenic hike back to Camp Nawakwa.
    • Both hikes finish at Camp Nawakwa, where food and fellowship await.

Welcome, announcements, and shuttle loading

8:30 AM
Shuttle departs Camp Nawakwa (please arrive by 8:15 AM to ensure an on-time departure)

Throughout the Day

  • Hike at your own pace
  • Stop at Trail Magic stations along the route
  • Enjoy the spectacular fall colors of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail
