Our Nawakwa is currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team of volunteers. Whether you have a few hours a week or a few hours a month to spare, we have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities that will allow you to make a difference in the lives of youth and our community.
Volunteer Position: Marketing Specialist(s)
Camp Nawakwa – Inspiring Outdoor Adventures and Lifelong Memories
Overview:
Camp Nawakwa is seeking enthusiastic volunteer Marketing Specialists to help share the magic of camp with our community. This position (or team of positions) will focus on promoting Camp Nawakwa programs and events, engaging families and alumni, and growing our online presence.
These roles are ideal for individuals who enjoy creativity, storytelling, social media, or digital content creation and want to make a difference in helping more youth experience the outdoors.
Responsibilities:
Depending on interests and skills, volunteers may take on one or more of the following focus areas:
1. Camp Promotion
- Develop and implement creative strategies to promote Camp Nawakwa programs and registration opportunities.
- Create engaging posts, photos, and stories for social media, newsletters, and community outreach.
- Collaborate with camp staff and volunteers to highlight camper experiences and special programs.
2. Special Events Promotion
- Assist with marketing for special events such as open houses, alumni gatherings, and fundraising events.
- Design flyers, graphics, and online event promotions.
- Coordinate event coverage and storytelling before, during, and after events.
3. YouTube Channel Development
- Launch and manage the official Camp Nawakwa YouTube channel.
- Capture, edit, and upload short videos showcasing camp life, camper stories, and seasonal highlights.
- Develop a consistent posting schedule and help grow subscriber engagement.
Qualifications:
- Passion for the mission and spirit of Camp Nawakwa.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with marketing, social media, video creation, or graphic design (preferred but not required).
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Time Commitment:
Flexible — volunteers can contribute as little as a few hours per month or take on a more active role depending on their availability and interest.
