For nearly 90 years, Camp Nawakwa has helped young people grow healthier, stronger, and more confident through outdoor experiences. As we look to the future, we are seeking dedicated, hands-on leaders to join our working Board of Directors.
Board members roll up their sleeves alongside volunteers while guiding Nawakwa’s mission, facilities, and partnerships. At the same time, we are moving toward a long-term goal of becoming more of a governing board — balancing vision and oversight with grassroots energy.
Why You Might Be the Perfect Fit:
🔹 Governance & Finance – Strengthen oversight, transparency, and accountability.
🔹 Fund Development & Donor Relations – Build lasting partnerships and secure resources.
🔹 Strategic Leadership – Shape our path for long-term impact and sustainability.
🔹 Project Management – Help implement initiatives, maintain the property, and deliver on our vision.
What Board Members Do:
• Serve as ambassadors for Our Nawakwa in the community
• Actively participate in board and committee work
• Make a personally significant financial gift
• Support fundraising and partner connections
• Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Show up for meetings, events, volunteer days, and celebrations
Time Commitment
Expect to contribute about 4–6 hours per month, including:
• Monthly virtual meetings/work sessions (1.5–2 hours + prep)
• At least one committee (1–3 hours/month)
• Volunteer days, fundraising events, or camp activities (2–4 times/year)
Some months are lighter, others busier, but this level of involvement helps Nawakwa thrive.
By joining the Board, you are not only guiding an organization — you are ensuring generations of kids can laugh, learn, and grow in the great outdoors.
